Short description of the research
I am a medical biologist studying the role of the gut microbiome in development of cardiometabolic diseases. I have a particular interest in bacteriophages (viruses of bacteria) and their role in regulation of gut microbes and human metabolism. I hold a position as associate professor in the Amsterdam UMC (location AMC) and am head of the Microbiota Center Amsterdam.
